Ross Shaw,

Shawnee Storyteller

Ross Shaw's family was one of many that escaped removal from Ohio in the 1830s.  Today he's a historian of Shawnee  / Native American ancestry that portrays We-pi-thi Mowowa (Silver Wolf) through stories taught to him by his father, noted storyteller Fred Shaw.  Silver Wolf is a storyteller of the Peckuwe sept and is of British-Shawnee mixed blood.  He presents  a modern day interpretation of life as a Native American circa 1774-1814.   Through his stories and drum playing Silver Wolf tells of a way back to nature by exploring the  relationship between earth, man, plants and animals.

Groups of all types and sizes enjoy the age old lessons retold through his stories including  like Grandma Turtle, The Hunting Story of Reciprocity and the Otter's history of laughter.  Ross also portrays a number other early American characters, horsemen and cavalry.

His presentation is available year-round and is ideal for public and private audiences across Ohio including schools, corporate meetings, family reunions, campgrounds and  summer camps at public or private locations  year-round also leading informal Native American History walks.   His presentation lasts about an hour including questions and answers and can be customized for any audience or theme.
